I have bought a D90 in New York…I want know a simple thing: what is it the actual D90 firmware? I see in many sites that it is possible to use the same update at D80 firmware, but I am not so sure. My firmware is A:1,00 – B:1,00 – L:1,000.
I have a problem with a lens SIGMA 24-70 f 2,8 HSM new, and before to do 400 km to give my lens and camera in reparetion, I would know if it is only a problem of firmware..

I own a number of different camera’s. My D90 is for family, pets. Holidays etc. A really great camera with the added functionality of being able to shoot some great short “HOME” videos.

The video function is an added benefit (1st DSLR camera to offer this) and by no means the purpose of the camera. Comparing a $1000 camera to a $50 000 Hollywood film studio device is just plain stupid.

Firmware upgrade would be great for some of the other small bugs on the camera.

D90 rocks for those who know a little about DSLR photography and want to learn more. It is mainly meant to take photos.
Video Mode is just another option, and for the Price we pay for the d90, i think that its an amazing camera.

I agree buying a D90 just for video mode is insane to say the least, it’s first and foremost a DSLR Camera that Nikon decided to add bling to. It’s a decent video camera in a pinch with great HD quality, however, with it’s limitations (including Jellocam and video tearing even in daylight) it won’t replace a good HD video camera any time soon. I also have to agree with the focus thing, learning how to manual focus while shooting video will pay off in spades later on

I am having problems with auto focus on stills with any lens which i’m thinking is a firmware problem like the D300…an update might help with the Jemmocam and video tearing issue as well…so patiently I wait

sinistro, why on earth would you or anyone else for that matter, buy a D90 just for video? it doesn’t make sense. video mode is limited because it’s prime function is a stills camera. surely no one serious about making video would ever consider this over a proper HD camcorder.

What needs to happen is canon post online 1week for all nikon D90 users come to 20 locations in the USA and trade in there D90′s for a new mark 2 or 1d Nikon a get up off there asses then. We will be waiting another 10 years for a update for the D90 and it will not ever come…….
