still no new firmware released yet…I wonder if there is a problem with the new firmware that Nikon decided not to release it to the public?

I haven’t played with movie mode but everything else works great; I have a D90 with the 18-200VR Lens from Nikon.

Glad to here, as there is known D90 interface issue between the body & the lens (even a Nikon lens), which causes an error message. Popping out the battery clear the err but it a pain to do.

28/may/2009 D90 Owner – Well its about time the canon 5d-mk2 has had 2 firmware updates so far! coming from a video background using semi-pro HDV (single C-mos) camcorders i was shocked to see this wobble video look that you DONT see on single C-mos camcorders above £200. I recently spoke to a NIKON rep at a demo day they were holding at Jessops photo store in new Oxford st London and he seemed amazed when i told him that camcorders have a manual shutter speed selector? I Continued to say that having a manual shutter speed option in D-movie mode might eliminate the soft dark horizontal banding you get while filming under tube/floresent lights by simply setting the shutter to 25th sec you would avoiding floresent flicker! Again having this option would soften (but not cure) the wobble video! I have also used an NTSC 3ccd camcorder in the UK you DO get Tube/floresent flickering untill you ramp down the shutter speed to under 30th sec! So then i thought mabe the video components have the wrong hertz setting for europe (UK 625-50hz / USA 525-50hz) or mabe the hertz setting is set to some strange one like 42hz. Another video camera dood said mabe the image refresh rate is to slow causing the wobble video! So as the image is halfway refreshed movement has taken place (hand holding the d90) as a result that would cause the wobble video look! So slightly overclocking the processor to have a faster video refresh might cure the wobble video! Its a shame i realy like the D90 and being an indy film maker i bought one so as many other film makers that are now fed up with the unprofessional Wobble video look, i recently test drove the Canon D500 (uk) Canon T1i (usa) and that has NOOO wobble video/ Horizontal banding in LV mode, if nikon dont take action Canon are going to sweep this corner of the market away from Nikon and im very, very close to selling my D90 and buying a Canon D500 (T1i)!!! I hope the above Video tech information gets back to NIKON as in there may be a solution to this gastly video wobble!

I purchased a Nikon D90 on 1st December and found it had a focusing problem. 95% of pictures taken were slightly out of focus. The seller is going to replace it on the 23rd December. I also own a D50 for 2 years now and never had any focusing issues. I have read on flickr that many other users encountered the same problems. I wanted to know if it’s a general issue found in a batch or just some isolated problems.
