The D90 can only connect via PTP over USB and that there is no option to use the widely-standardized and accepted Mass storage class protocol in Windows XP
How to fix this trouble?
Any idea.. wait (maybe) firmware update… or screws from Windows Vista (this support) Dll content….

PTP is the only thing the D90 should connect as. There is card readers and there is cameras, they should not interface the same.
